Active Adults closing out May with a bang!

Dance 101 – Thursday, May 24th & Mat 31st at 1 pm.  Get ready to boogie with this heart pounding, fun dance workout led by Emory’s medical students. Dance styles will include salsa, hip hop, and aerobic strength exercises. Participants of all skill levels welcome! FREE and held at Decatur Recreation Center!!

Safeguarding Seniors – Friday, May 25th at 11:30 am. Class is at Decatur Recreation Center. There has been an increase in the number of senior’s going to the emergency rooms for misuse of medication. The purpose of this presentation is to educate seniors on proper use and disposal of prescription medicine as well of warning signs of over medication. What’s prescription drug misuse? Problems taking medications, intentional/unintentional abuse, safeguards, signs of over-medication, safe storage, disposal methods and self-care. 

Investment Basics – Tuesday, May 29th at 6:30 pm. We’ll meet at Decatur Recreation Center. This presentation dives into reasons to invest, understanding your risk tolerance, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other types of investments. This is a FREE and education-only class. 

National Senior Health & Fitness Day – Wednesday, May 30th from 9 am – 1 pm. Event is held at Decatur Recreation Center. We’ll have vendors, health screenings, exercise classes, exercise demos, panel discussions, a movie on the oval, DrumRise drum circle, hula hooping, tricycles and much, much more. Please carpool due to limited parking. See you then.
