Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving! Decatur Active Living will be closing early today and reopening for regular hours Monday, November 28th.

The Tourism Bureau and Decatur Downtown Development Authority are hosting Small Business Saturday on the Square this Saturday, November 26. Santa will be there from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. you are invited to join the free event and bring your families. Bring your cameras and take a photo with Santa and enjoy some warm cookies, milk and cocoa. At the end of the day there is a Holiday PJs Dance Party – wear your holiday “best” pajamas to get into the holiday groove. Cindy Bryan named Metro Atlanta’s Crossing Guard of the Year!

We are thrilled to announce Metro Atlanta’s Crossing Guard of the Year: Ms. Cindy Bryan with The City of Decatur Schools- Fifth Avenue Upper Es, Beacon Hill MS, and Decatur HS!! We celebrated Crossing Guard Appreciation last week with brunch and a chance to recognize our dedicated group of amazing crossing guards. Help us celebrate our Crossing Guards every day as they work to provide a safe route to and from school for the children and teens of Decatur.

Decatur Active Living has a Spooky Halloween

Thank you all who participated in our Halloween events! It was a joy for us to bring back our Halloween Dance for Upper Elementary Schools, the Senior Halloween Party, and our Halloween bike rides.

Trunk or Treat Events in Oakhurst!

Come over to Oakhurst Rec Center for a Trunk or Treat event Thursday, October 27th from 5-7pm in the parking lot! Then don’t miss out on our Spooks and Spokes family bike ride and treats on Sunday, October 30th starting at 2pm in Harmony Park.

Join us for a 6 mile, Halloween-themed ride around Decatur! After the ride we will visit a neighborhood brewery for refreshments and camaraderie. Meet in front of Decatur Recreation Center.
