The BIG Walk was a BIG success!

Thanks to all members of the community and City of Decatur staff who came out to participate in the BIG Walk this morning. The BIG Walk was scheduled to show support for proposed pedestrian crosswalks on South Candler Street. Representatives from GA Department of Transportation  (GDOT)were on hand to do pedestrian counts. They were very impressed that so many pedestrians and cyclists came out on a very cold morning. One of our volunteers counted 220 pedestrians and bikers at East Dougherty! Even our new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Dude, was caught walking his child to school!

You have got to love this City! It takes a village…….
