Is this the year you want to learn something new? Or maybe you are looking for a fun activity for a cold afternoon or evening. The Oakhurst Community Garden may have just the thing for you! The Garden offers a wide variety of classes, camps and workshops. Some of the upcoming January classes include Intro to Beekeeping on January 29, Introduction to Grafting on the 15th, Making Your Own Medicine on the 23rd, and Gluten Free Baking on January 30th. If you and your children want to learn together, the Garden offers a variety of Family classes: In January you can take Candle Making, Glass Valentine Hearts is offered in February, and a class where you learn how to Make Valentine Treats for your Doggy Pal!
Have you wanted to start a home garden and not sure where to begin? Check out classes like Plant Your First Spring Garden, held on February 9th, Let’s Grow Mushrooms on February 12th or The Basics of Growing Your Own Spring Seedlings on February 23rd.
My friends and I took a knitting class in December – something I have always wanted to learn to do. I might have my new scarf finished before the warm weather arrives this spring!
