Save Your Phone Books to Recycle at Earth Day

This year at Earth Day in the Oakhurst Garden you can recycle your old phone books! Thanks to sponsor PitStop, we will try to fill up an empty (and unused) portolet with old phone books for recycling.

This year’s Earth Day event will be held on Sunday, April 17th in the Oakhurst Community Garden located at 435 Oakview Road from 1 until 4 pm.

In addition to phone book recycling there will be hands on activities for the children, Earth-friendly folks in the community pavilion area, music and an Earth themed Cake Contest. You can even get a piece of cake after the judging and awards are given.

Join us for the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Parade: decorate your bike, wagon stroller or yourself and join in the fun. No motorized vehicles are allowed. Parade line up begins at 12:30pm at Harmony Park.

This year’s event is presented by Decatur’s Recycling Company, Latham Home  Recycling.

See you in the Garden!
