City of Decatur Staff Attend LEAD

Toni Dixon, Fire Chief and Gregory White, Acting Living Director had the opportunity to attend LEAD (Leading, Educating and Developing) at the University of Virginia last week. This was a week long training of intensive and interactive executive and organizational development.

The major areas of focus during the week of LEAD include leadership styles and team building with the use and development of the Myers Brigg Type Indicator, management strategies within the organization, creative management, communication skills, and the development of action plans.

The University of Virginia , founded by Thomas Jefferson, enjoys the opportunity to highlight the Jeffersonian tradition and ideals.  Pictured below Toni Dixon, fire chief during the graduation of LEAD.
