On Saturday, April 30th, several members of the Decatur Active Living’s Girls Lacrosse team came out in uniform to volunteer to help Atlanta Police collect donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Georgia. The event, which ran from 6:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2011 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011 drew large numbers of people to the Krispy Kreme store. Many of these young ladies volunteered before and after their lacrosse game. The mission of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics is to raise funds for and awareness of the Special Olympics movement worldwide.
Thanks to Parent and Coach CherylAnn McGirt for the article and pictures.
It is great to see our young ladies involved and helping others.
