March came in like a lion here at the recreation center and we are roaring with new classes for ACTIVE ADULTS. Last week at Lunch & Learn (4th Fridays) we had 25 seniors in attendance (including visitors from Arbor Terrace) to learn about the Balancing Act and Ageless Grace, a seated mobility class for seniors (held Tu/Th at 1130). We enjoyed tasty refreshments from arden’s garden juices and balance bars. Great takeaway from Sandy, “trust your bare feet and keep moving!”
This week we begin our 2nd daytime Yoga class, which will be Fridays at 10am w/Mariam (also offered Mondays at 230pm). Pop on over after you walk/bike the kiddos to school. And Wednesday at 11am we will be walking our 3-mile route around the downtown for Walk With a Doc. Internet for Seniors class (1st Fridays at 2pm) is conducted by our neighbor librarians and is currently full.
Lastly the Keenagers social club is meeting at re:Loom to volunteer on Thursday in support of empowerment and housing for the homeless initiatives. Decatur is proud to have such innovative classes for our ACTIVE ADULTS and nonprofit offerings here in the city. Come on over and get fit and fulfilled with Decatur Active Living!
