Walk With the Arborist…

american holly

Savannah holly is a hybrid whose genetic ÒrootsÓ run deep into our native American Holly family (Ilex opaca) with influence from two other holly species.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly…fa la la la la, la la la la, tis the season to be jolly.

We won’t be decorating any trees but we will walk with the city arborist, India Woodson, to learn about and discuss tree canopy, health, and jolly policy. I’m sure we’ll even come across some holly trees this time of year.

Meet us Wednesday at 10 am in the lobby of the Decatur Recreation Center. We will walk about 2.5-3.0 miles at a strolling pace and stop to chat here and there. It looks to be a fine sunny winter day. Bring a water bottle and go ahead and put bells on if you like!

Jingle jingle!
