Cheryl began working with the City of Decatur in 2002 as the special events coordinator and joined the Active Living Division in 2010 as Assistant Director. She oversees the Active Living Board and the Pedestrian committee. Other responsibilities include marketing the Active Living division, coordinating the city’s Safe Routes to School initiative, run/walk permitting, encouraging walking and biking and coordinating the annual Touch a truck event and Decatur Streets Alive. She played a role in Decatur becoming a Silver Walk Friendly Community and earning the Bicycle Friendly designation.

A 2006 graduate of Leadership DeKalb, Cheryl is a member of the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association and serves as Board Chair of Georgia Bikes. She graduated from Furman University and received her master’s degree from Emory University. She is a yoga instructor and loves to read, bike and travel.
