Team Decatur Kick-off is Tonight!!

Join us for the Team Decatur Kick-off and Health Expo tonight from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at the Decatur Recreation Center. Learn about Team Decatur, Meet Mayor Baskett and Olympian Jeff Galloway and hang out with Doc Broc! Exercise, win prizes, try out Tai Chi and Yoga, get a mini massage, learn about healthy eating and have FUN!! The event tonight kicks off the eight week training program -pick up a schedule of training walks and runs at the event.

Team Decatur was formed in 2010 to take part in the KP Corporate Run/Walk 5k held in downtown Atlanta in September. This year’s event will be held on the evening of September 24th. Team Decatur members gather in the team tent at the event and  enjoys food (from Zest) and beverages (from UJoint and Oakhurst Market) after the race. Great time, meet new friends, get exercise and build community. Team Decatur is an exercise in FUN and FITNESS!

Join Decatur Active Living for the 4th Annual Team Decatur Kick-off and Health Expo at the Decatur Recreation Center on Tuesday, July 15 from 6 – 8 PM.

On July 15th attend the Team Decatur Kickoff Event at the Decatur Recreation Center, 6 – 8 pm.

Join Mayor Baskett and Race Director and Olympian Jeff Galloway for this fun event which kicks off the free eight week training program offered through September 10.

• Health and Fitness Expo featuring local businesses sharing information on getting and keeping fit and nutrition.
• Wear fitness clothes to participate in fun activities including Jazzercise, Tai Chi, Aerobics and more.
• Drawings for prizes including free fitness classes, gift certificates and more
• Get information on Team Decatur, the running and walking group formed to participate in the Kaiser Permanente Run/Walk 5k. This is our fourth year!
• A special appearance by Doc Broc!
• Meet Olympian Jeff Galloway
• Learn about “Bright at Night” and receive a free blinkie light to keep you safe.

Team Decatur and Get Active Atlanta Kickoff Next Tuesday!

Join Decatur Active Living for the Team Decatur and Get Active Atlanta Kickoff on Tuesday, July 24 from 6-8pm in Harmony Park. Mayor Bill Floyd will give the official welcome and Olympian Jeff Galloway will be on hand to talk about the benefits of leading an active lifestyle. Doc Broc will be there too!

Visit the Health and Fitness Expo and learn about leading a healthy lifestyle from local businesses. There will be drawings throughout the evening for chances to win prizes such as gift certificates for fitness and swim classes. Join in as instructors demonstrate Jazzercise, African Dance and more.

New this year! Ride your bicycle to the event and have it registerd by the Decatur Police Department. This will aid in its safe return if it is recovered after being lost or stolen.

Learn about Team Decatur and meet your team mates.

Be sure to stop by one of the great restaurants in Oakhurst before or after the Kickoff Event to enjoy a tasty dinner.
