Susan G. Komen Three Day Walk Comes Through Decatur Friday, October 13

3DAY_2017_CityPages_Overview_MichiganDon your pink and get out and cheer for the walkers on the Komen Three Day Walk this Friday, October 13th.

Thousands of women and men come together in an amazing display of courage and commitment. They’ll walk 60 miles over the course of three days, approximately 20 miles each day.

Walkers will arrive in Decatur a little before noon, coming down Sycamore Street, on to Ponce in front of the Old Courthouse, then down Clairemont Avenue. Come on over to the front of the Decatur Recreation  Center and cheer them on.  There will be an “official” cheering station at Sycamore Park.

Active Living staff will be donning pink shirts in honor of one of their own, Stacy Green, who is facing breast cancer.

Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk Comes Through Decatur Friday, October 17

The Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk will be coming through Decatur tomorrow, Friday October 17th.  Consider lining the street on Ponce de Leon Avenue and show the walkers support by cheering them on as they walk by. They plan on hitting the city around 11 am, just in time for you to cheer during your lunch hour!

The walkers will be adorned in pink and various states of costumes. Great opportunity for some fun photos as you cheer them on. Many of the walkers are cancer survivors along with their friends and family who are showing support.
