Reflect Hope 5k is December 3rd

REGISTER TODAY for the 3rd Annual Reflect Hope Twilight 5K Run/Walk on December 3rd @ 5:30 p.m. in Downtown Decatur! This race is a qualifying event for the Team Decatur Grand Slam Fitness Challenge!

 You don’t want to miss this fun, festive, family-friendly 5K Twilight Run/Walk to benefit A Beacon of Hope! What a great way to kick off the Christmas/Holiday season as we glow & jingle through the streets of Downtown Decatur.

The evening will include a live D.J., festive holiday activities and crafts for the kids, glow gear for all runners, chip timing, long sleeve t-shirts, and great awards.

$25 – Adult / $18 – student (18 yrs and younger) until 11/30.

Register for the Take Back the Night 5k Before April 20 to Receive Early Rate

The Annual Take Back the Night 5K is April 28th

 The 21st Take Back the Night 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 to benefit the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center (DRCC).The one mile fun run/walk begins at 5 p.m. and the 5K begins at 5:30 p.m.The race begins and ends at the Agnes Scott College track and winds through the beautiful Oakhurst and East Lake communities. Stay after the race for an awesome pizza party, children’s activities and awards. Decatur band “JoyScout” will play their blend of folk, rock and alternative country.

Register before April 20th to receive early registration rate.
Adult registration is $25 through April 20 and $30 after April 20. Youth registration, ages 12 & under, is $15 through April 20 and $20 after April 20.

Avoid the lines on race day and pick up your packet at Agnes Scott College’s gymnasium from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27. Runners may also register at this time. The gymnasium is located off E. Dougherty which runs west from S. Candler to S. McDonough.
 
Same day packet pick-up or registration begins at 3 p.m. on the 28th!

Run With the Dogs This Saturday!

The annual Decatur Booster Club “Run With the Dogs” is this Saturday, beginning at 9am at Decatur High School. The race is part of the Team Decatur Grand Slam Fitness Challenge, so get out your running (or walking) shoes and have a fun morning being active. And  no, you don’t have to bring a dog!

The 5K run begins at 9:00 am, rain or shine. Registration will take place in front of Decatur High School beginning at 8:00 am. Decatur High School, Renfroe Middle School, Glennwood Academy and City of Decatur elementary school students, parents, alumni, friends, neighbors and runners of all levels are invited to participate. Runners are invited to run with their dogs in a special group.

All proceeds will be used by the Decatur Bulldog Boosters to help fund the sports programs at Decatur High School and Renfroe Middle School.

The race will begin and end in front of Decatur High School on North McDonough Street in Decatur. Parking is available in the upper parking lot off Howard Avenue.
