Celebrate National Food Day in Decatur

National Food Day is on Wednesday, October 24, 2012.

On National Food Day Global Growers will celebrate and build the movement towards healthy, affordable, and sustainable foods, by hosting a volunteer work day and pot-luck lunch at Decatur’s Kitchen Garden. The work day will run from 9am until noon on Wednesday, October 24^th, with a potluck lunch to follow. Activities for the day include fall gardening work: wood chipping, orchard cleanup, and other around-the-garden activities.

Celebrate Food Day by shopping at the Decatur Farmers Market on Wednesday, October 24th from 4-7pm. Grab some delicious picnic food and walk across the street to our Food Day Eat-In outside of the First Baptist Church and enjoy your fresh, local food with fellow Food Day supporters. Local musicians will provide entertainment.
