Run With the Dogs Photos and Video

DSC05777From Active Living Board Member (and all around good guy) Michael Harbin:

“The eighth annual Run With The Dogs is in the books. It exceeded all of our hopes and expectations. Participation increased by more than 60% over last year to a total of 480 registrations. There were well over 100 canine participants. The wet weather of the previous few days cleared, boosting attendance. Our unique, canine-friendly run/walk event started and ended Saturday morning in front of the Decatur High School auditorium.

As you know, the Run With The Dogs is a fundraiser for the Decatur Bulldog Boosters who provide support for the athletic programs at Decatur High School and Renfroe Middle School. This year, with your help, we raised over $10,000 – four times the amount raised last year. This will go toward uniforms, equipment and post-season recognition ceremonies – none of which can be funded out of school system money. And it supports a major goal of the Decatur Bulldog Boosters – to ensure that no student has to pay to play a sport.

Everyone had fun, got in a good morning of physical activity with friends and neighbors, and we raised a significant amount of money for a good cause.”
