Decatur “Rode to the Capitol” Despite the Cold

A large group from Decatur participated in Georgia Rides to the Capitol yesterday, despite the cold weather and the little snow flurries. Twelve elected officials and over a hundred riders met up with the Roswell group and rode to the Capitol steps in order to raise support for improved conditions for cycling, including the development of regional systems of both on-road bicycling facilities and multi-use-trails.
Former Mayor Bill Floyd joined Commissioner Fred Boykin leading the Decatur group. At the Capitol there were speeches by Commissioner Boykin, Roswell Mayor Jere Woods, Lieutenent Governor Casey Cagle and other supporters of safe bicycling in Georgia.
