There are many things to do this weekend in Decatur.
The Annual Decatur Garden Tour will be held this weekend, Saturday 10 am until 5 pm and Sunmday noon until 5 pm.
This year’s 25th anniversary tour, April 27 and 28, is packed with something for everyone. It features 15 private gardens, including Ryan Gainey’s world-famous rose garden, expected to be in beautiful and fragrant bloom.
The weekend coincides with the Wylde Center Plant Sale Festival at Oakhurst Garden. Herbs, vegetable plants, fruit trees, and shrubs will be for sale.The sale begins today (Friday) and continues through Monday and features free lectures throughout the weekend.
The Decatur Arts Alliance continues Sidewalk Saturdays. Great time to walk or bicycle around the city and see artists performing on sidewalks, Harmony Park and the Old Courthouse Square from 3 until 6 pm.
Decatur’s sidewalks sparkle with artists and performers of all types for 10 weeks during Sidewalk Saturdays. Artists and performers will be featured on the sidewalks in downtown Decatur and in Oakhurst’s Harmony Park. Come see storytellers, musicians, chalk artists, dancers, visual artists, spoken word artists and more.
If you dare to leave the City of Decatur, Avondale Estates is holding the Avondale Estates Sunday Ride from 11 am until 3 pm. The event is free and features over 4 miles of streets closed to motorized traffic.
