NEW Bike Repair Station at Decatur Recreation Center

The City of Decatur Active Living Division is excited to announce our first bike repair station! The station is made by Dero and is located in front of the Decatur Recreation Center at 231 Sycamore Drive. Need to make an adjustment or flix a flat? We have the tools and the “deluxe” pump ready for your use! It even has a QR code in case you are like me and have no idea how to make adjustments.

Thanks to Gerry Knotts from the Public Works Department for getting this installed so quickly. We look forward to getting photos of folks using the station, so send them to cheryl.burnette@decaturga.com or post to the Decatur Active Living Facebook page.

This is exciting news for the bike culture in Decatur. Thanks Cheryl and Gerry for your work on this project.

    This is very good. Thanks.

Now, if the City would just quit letting contractors close our bike paths for two years, it would show the City really does care about cycling.

    • Cheryl Burnette says:

We do care very much about cyclists- that is why we didn’t want them to ride to the end of the PATH and try to navigate a dangerous crossing at Trinity/Candler. I have ridden the detour many times and it works. Many of us here at the city are cyclists and continue to advocate for safe conditions for both pedestrians and cyclists.
