Bonfire on the Square is Thursday, December 18

Be sure to bring the family out for the Decatur Business Association’s annual Bonfire and Marshmallow Roast on Thursday, December 18 from 7 – 8 pm on the Old Courthouse Square in downtown Decatur. The event is free.

Mom and Dad can stop by some of the local shops for the last night of Terrific Thursdays.

Bonfire & Marshmallow Roast and Earth Hour Celebration Saturday Night

Join us on the Old Courthouse Square this coming Saturday night for Earth Hour. To celebrate, we will hold the annual Bonfire and Marshmallow Roast that was rained out this past December from 8 – 9pm.

Earth Hour is from 8:30 until 9:30 pm. We will turn out the lights on the MARTA Plaza and encourage everyone to turn off lights in their home and do an activity that doesn’t require electricity. Read more about Earth Hour here.

A Bonfire to Keep You Warm

The annual Bonfire and Marshmallow Roast is tomorrow night, Thursday, December 16 at 7pm on the Old Courthouse Square. What a great way to do something fun outside and keep warm at the same time! Decatur firefighters come up to light the fire which will burn until 8pm. Children (and adults as well) can roast marshmallows provided by the Decatur Business Association, then visit with Santa on the Bandstand.

Thanks to Gerry Knotts from Public Works and his crew for building the fire pit and thanks to the Decatur Fire Department for keeping the fire and community safe.

See you on the Square!
