We Are Parks And Recreation: Lee Williams

lee.williams

I have over 35 years of experience in the area of recreation as Therapeutic Aquatics Instructor, Assistant Director of Aquatics, Assistant Director of Youth Services, Youth Sports Coordinator and Facility Manager. I have been very fortunate in my career over the past 35 years. I have had the pleasure to work with people of all backgrounds and races. If I had to do it all over again I don’t believe that I would change a thing. It is a joy and a pleasure to be a part of the City of Decatur/Active Living team.

Active Living’s Lee Williams Receives Thomas O. Davis Award

lee croppedLee Williams, Facility Manager for Decatur Active Living, was presented the Thomas O. Davis Award last night at the June Decatur Business Association Meeting. Lee has worked for the City of Decatur since 2000 and always goes above and beyond to serve the community. He has taught many children how to ride bikes safely, managed sports camps and adult programming and has been an active participant in the Safe Routes to School program. Lee also serves as a great mentor to teens and young men in the community.

Decatur’s Thomas O. Davis Award honors a public employee who has helped strengthen the bond between government and the community, served as a role model for others in public service, contributed to the well-being of the community, inspired others to get involved in public service, and served the public with respect. The award is named for Decatur’s long-time city attorney.

We are very proud of Lee and feel lucky to have the opportunity to work with him!
