Active Living’s Lee Williams Receives Thomas O. Davis Award

lee croppedLee Williams, Facility Manager for Decatur Active Living, was presented the Thomas O. Davis Award last night at the June Decatur Business Association Meeting. Lee has worked for the City of Decatur since 2000 and always goes above and beyond to serve the community. He has taught many children how to ride bikes safely, managed sports camps and adult programming and has been an active participant in the Safe Routes to School program. Lee also serves as a great mentor to teens and young men in the community.

Decatur’s Thomas O. Davis Award honors a public employee who has helped strengthen the bond between government and the community, served as a role model for others in public service, contributed to the well-being of the community, inspired others to get involved in public service, and served the public with respect. The award is named for Decatur’s long-time city attorney.

We are very proud of Lee and feel lucky to have the opportunity to work with him!

Congratulations to Active Living’s Gregory White who was awarded the Thomas O. Davis Award at the April Decatur Business Association Meeting. The Thomas O. Davis Award is presented annually to honor a public servant – one who often goes unnoticed in his/her work but serves as an inspiration and who exemplifies honesty, integrity and professionalism in the performance of duties. If you know Mr. White, he certainly fits this profile!
