Fun At the Oakhurst Festival

These young ladies enjoyed making fall crowns at the festival.

It was a perfect day for the Oakhurst Arts and Music Festival this past Saturday, and the children’s area was full of happy, active children. Thanks to Michael Orta, who organized the Children’s area, there were many crafts, live music and dancing, trucks to climb on and touch and a “bouncy”.

Decatur Children and Youth Services staff provided a couple of fun, fall crafts. Children made fall leaf crowns and owl puppets. I thought it was quite clever of them to offer the opportunity to make owl puppets since this year’s logo included an owl!

Oakhurst Arts Run This Saturday

The weather this weekend is going to be perfect for being active outside, so join the community for the annual Oakhurst Arts Run. The run begins in front of One Step At a Time in Oakhurst at 8am on Saturday, October 9th. After the race, stick around for the annual Oakhurst Arts & Music Festival. The festival features over 50 artists and a full day of music. For details on race registration and the festival, click here. Or you can stop in and see Charles at One Step and he will be happy to sign you up for the 5K race.

See you in Oakhurst on Saturday!
