Cycling Classes for Adults and Children Start Soon: Register Today!

Decatur Active Living is offering a series of Bicycle Safety Classes for both Adults and Children. It is a great time to learn how to ride, brush up on your skills and/or get over your fears of riding around town in traffic. Also nice time to prepare the children to safely ride the new bicycle they may get over the holidays.

Casual Cycling: Ongoing
Mondays 9:30-11:30am (#243010-38) 
Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm (#243010-39
Fee: $20 Decatur Resident, $30 Nonresident
A two hour session geared for the average cyclists who want to use their bicycle for trips to the grocery store, shops, etc. Taught by ByBicycles Pam Aerts and Mike Gerke. Please register in advance through WebTrac or at Beacon Hill Center.

Smart Cycling for Adults
Saturday, October 6, 13, 20 & 27, 10am  – noon

Fee: $100 Decatur Resdient, $130 Nonresident
Traffic Skills 101 gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. Learn how to conduct bicycle safety checks, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques. Taught by Mike Sheehan, LCI.

Smart Cycling for Children
Saturday, October 13, 20, 27, 1-2pm

Fee: $80 for Resident, $100 for Nonresident
This series of classes is designed to give children the skills they need to ride safely. Instruction includes signaling, safe starts and stops, bicycle and helmet safety checks and more. Please register in advance at Beacon Hill Center or through WebTrac.

Classes will be held at Beacon Hill Center.
