Decatur Active Living Celebrates Food Day 2012 with Free Grocery Store Tour at Publix

The second annual Food Day will be held on October 24, 2012.  Celebrated nation-wide, this is a day to focus on healthy, sustainable and affordable food. Events are being held all over Georgia and Decatur is celebrating by offering a free grocery tour!

A grocery tour is a casual, “hands on” approach to learning how to read a food label and plan healthy meals. The tour leader, trained in nutrition, leads participants through fresh, frozen and canned food aisles to learn about fiber, sodium and the many nutrients in food!  This is a great opportunity to get all your questions answered by the expert!

This one hour tour will be offered Saturday, October 13^th from 9:30-10:30 am at Publix, 2155 North Decatur Road. The tour is FREE to the community but participants must register in advance by contacting cheryl.burnette@decaturga.com or 678-553-6541. The tour is limited to six participants.
