What are you thankful for? We couldn’t do it without our community partners…

…yes that’s right, we are lucky to be in such a collaborative community and work with partners to extend and improve the services of Active Living. Some examples are the Library who partners with us on book talks in our community garden and for computer classes for seniors. Our friends in the medical community show up each week to guest lead Walk With a Doc and we use the city’s walking tours and friends of the cemetery walking tours which were already designed for the community. The Solarium hosted our seniors this summer when the rec center was full to the brim with summer camp goers and numerous local restaurants provide catering at our many and varied events. The Wylde Center sends chefs over to teach simply delicious cooking classes in our new kitchen. And a number of classes held here are from instructors who also teach elsewhere, but enjoy teaching in our wonderful space and serving the surrounding community.
Literacy Volunteers of Atlanta donated a white board for one of our smaller meeting rooms that is often used for enrichment courses. And of course we couldn’t keep the grounds looking great without our staff and Public Works crew and local citizens who take ownership of the dog parks.
So, thank you all for your partnerships and we look forward to continuing the collaborations!
