Safe Routes to School and CNN!

This morning CNN came to Decatur to film one of the monthly Walk & Roll Celebrations at Oakhurst Elementary. School Champion Heather Tell did a great job getting the families out and over 300 children participated! Commissioner Patti Garrett joined in and walked with the children to school.

The program at Oakhurst Elementary continues to grow thanks to the great support of Principal Robin Fountain and all the wonderful parents in the community. Safe Routes to School in Decatur is a collaboration between the schools and the City of Decatur. It takes the whole community to make our families feel safe on the way to school.
