National Bike Challenge – Join the Official City Team

ibikeThe City of Decatur has a team for the National Bike Challenge. You can join here: https://www.strava.com/clubs/ibikedecatur

What is the National Bike Challenge?
The National Bike Challenge is a nationwide event uniting thousands of current bicyclists and encouraging countless new riders. It is a free and easy way to challenge yourself, your colleagues and your community to ride more while competing on a local, state and national level. The challenge starts May 1st and finishes on September 30th.

Why join a team?
Using Strava to log your rides produces a “heat map” on their site showing the most traveled routes. We can zoom in to our City and see which routes cyclists are currently using and where the needs are for more infrastructure.

There are prizes for teams that log the most miles – you score 20 points each day your ride and 1 point for each mile ridden. All outdoor rides count.

Let’s put Decatur on the biking map!

If you don’t like using Strava, there are other platforms that work with the challenge. Those devices are listed here: https://www.strava.com/upload/device
