Stay Active This Weekend in Decatur

There is always something fun and active to do in Decatur!

BBQ Blues and Bluegrass Festival in Harmony Park in Oakhurst. Active Living will be there, so stop by our new tent and say hello. Walk or ride your bike to the festival! Dance to the music of multiple bands.

Freight Room Bike Ride at 2pm begins at the Decatur Train Depot.

Take a Walking Tour with the new Decatur Walking Tour Map.

Plan a family bicycle ride using the Decatur Bicycle Suitability Map.

Stop by one of Decatur’sĀ Parks and play like a child (or with your child).

Enjoy one of our three great pools – they will be closing in a few weeks. Swim like you neverĀ  swam before, or just sit and read a book.

Decatur Bicycle Suitability Map is Here!

Decatur Active Living and Bike Decatur have been working on a Bicycle Suitability Map and it is here! The map, a partnership between the two, identifies roadways using three bicycle difficulty rankings with the intention of assisting cyclists in choosing suitable routes to desired destinations. Thanks to cartographer Jeff McMichael for creating the map, as well as to Bike Decatur and the many bicyclists who participated in its development.

You can download the map here, or stop by Decatur Active Living at Beacon Hill, Bicycle South or Decatur Bikes to pick up your copy. Maps will be distributed throughout the city at many businesses in coming day and weeks.
