Take A Walk, with Doc Broc Wednesday 8/20 @10am

TakeaWalkKPKaiser Permanente and City of Decatur Invite You to “Take A Walk”

Did you know that walking just 30 minutes a day, five days a week can improve your health? Kaiser Permanente wants to help you thrive with a mid-week walk through Downtown Decatur. The health care organization is partnering with the City of Decatur for this “Take A Walk” event, which kicks off at 10 a.m. Wednesday August 20 at the Decatur Recreation Center, 231 Sycamore Street in Decatur.

Take part in a warm-up led by a certified trainer at 9:45 am. Then join Decatur Mayor Jim Baskett along the scenic, one-mile route through downtown. Refreshments and giveaways will be available for walkers. You can also meet your neighborhood Kaiser Permanente doctor and pose for a “healthy” selfie with mascot, Doc Broc! Don’t miss this opportunity for a mid-week workout. Come out and “Take A Walk” with us on Wednesday!

Note: this walk will join the regularly scheduled Walk With a Doc that occurs every Wednesday at 10am in Decatur at the Recreation Center. Decatur CAPS will escort the walk, KP will be our hosts this week with several guest Docs, and 11 Alive will cover this active living event!

KP + 11 Alive + City of Decatur = Decatur Active Living!
