Glenda Lee- Children and Youth Services Employee Receives the 2013 Thomas O. Davis Award

On yesterday at the Decatur Business Association meeting held at  the Oakhurst Community Garden- Wylde Center Glenda Lee was honored. Glenda Lee received the 2013 Thomas O. Davis Award for her 31 years of public service.  Glenda currently serves as the Program Supervisor for Children and Youth Services providing leadership to staff overseeing summer camps and afterschool.  Glenda grew up in the Beacon Community and learned early what it means to give back to the community.  Glenda can be found running from one afterschool site to the next during the school year and on the same day she may end up at a basketball practice to support local kids.  Glenda is responsible for all of the wonderful crafts you see in the children’s area for the Arts Festival, BBQ and Blues Festival, Earth Day and Oakhurst Festival.  Congratulations Glenda on your accomplishments and well deserving.  Pictures from the celebration on yesterday below.
