Our good friends at @goodmeasuremeals are launching some new fall yums!  I hear whole wheat pumpkin bread is on the menu.  Use the code above to get a discount on healthy meals you can pick up at the Decatur Rec Center and don’t worry about cooking next week.

I have tried these, and they are fresh, not frozen and taste very good. (And I am a picky eater!)

Lunch & Learn on 4th Fridays – is this week 1130am Friday

lunchUpdate:

Full year of talks was successful in 2014, let us know what you’d like to learn about in 2015, the planning has begun.
Once a month on 4th Fridays at 1130am, health and wellness professionals will pop in to the recreation center for a lunch & learn talk. The series is timed to occur just after our popular weekly senior aerobics course. The talks are free and open to the public, so have lunch with us once a month as we spread the awareness of active living and how to keep that focus as we age.

It’s simple, active and healthy; bring a brown bag lunch, put it in the fridge, and snack with us after class as we chat with and learn from community experts on topics such as:

  1. January: Jennifer Weissman – Simply Delicious – Green Smoothies
  2. February: Sandy Bramlett – Balancing Act! and Ageless Grace
  3. March: Laura Roberts – Music Therapy for caregivers and Alzheimer’s patients
  4. April: Rachel Stroud – Nutrition 101 from Good Measure Meals
  5. May: Dorie Sokol – Arthritis and how it affects our thumbs
  6. June: Ashli Price – Menu planning for fresh, seasonal foods on a budget
  7. July: Melissa Bloom – Balance, Vertigo, and Dizziness help through physical therapy
  8. August: Jessica Covington – Brain food and games to keep you sharp
  9. September: Joe Nocera –  Exercise, is it better for the Body or the Brain?
  10. October: TBD
  11. November: Lee Ann Harvey – Caregivers 101
  12. December: TBD
